The 3D device industry has long lacked a source for content until now-with this new YouTube on TV app, anyone can view 3D content on a Smart TV. Consumers will now be able to enjoy thousands of 3D videos,-allowing friends and family to more realistically share and enjoy each other’s life moments via YouTube and Samsung Smart TV. YouTube uses standards-compliant video formats to enable the sharing of 3D content with 720p HD video quality across an array of devices, including Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, mobile phones and gaming consoles.

Much like user-created content helped in the growth of the smartphone market, YouTube’s 3D content for Smart TV service is a testament to the already thriving Smart TV industry. The new YouTube on TV app with 3D will be available on Samsung Smart TVs and BD Players globally more or less now (end of 2011 is the “official” start date).

StockMarketWire.com – DDD Group will showcase its TriDef 2D to 3D conversion technology and Yabazam! 3D content library with several high-profile partners at the Consumer Electronics Show, which starts today (6 January). AMD will demonstrate automatic 2D to 3D game conversion using TriDef Ignition on its next generation AMD Radeon HD 6000 family of graphics processors as part of the WIRED ‘Make a Scene’ initiative, while HP will showcase TriDef 2D to 3D game conversion on its recently launched Envy17 3D notebook.

LG Electronics is demonstrating the new A520 15.6-inch 3D notebook PC while Samsung is exhibiting their new 17.3-inch 3D notebook PC, both equipped with the latest 3D capable graphics processors from AMD. In addition to 3D notebook PCs, Samsung will also be exhibiting their latest 3D PC monitors. DDD separately announced that it and Intel would be demonstrating TriDef stereoscopic 3D software with Intel’s new second generation Intel core desktop and mobile PC processors at the show. DDD adds: “In television, Samsung continues to demonstrate clear leadership in the field of 3D TV with the debut of the world’s thinnest 3D Blu-ray player equipped with 2D to 3D conversion. “At their suite at the Wynne Hotel, Quartics will be showing its new SmartCable, an HDMI cable equipped with the Qvu video processor, incorporating DDD’s latest 3D conversion technology. “The Quartics SmartCable allows 2D devices like set top boxes and Blu-ray players to be connected to 3D TVs with the 3D capabilities residing in the cable instead of the device.

“Hyundai will showcase new TV sets with TriDef game conversion as well as content from DDD’s Yabazam 3D content library on a custom 3D video wall.

“Eyewear firm Oakley will also be using DDD’s TriDef 3D game conversion as part of the demonstration of their new GASCAN line of 3D polarised glasses for use with 3D TVs.

TiVo customers who own a 3D television will be the first in New Zealand to enjoy 3D content delivered over broadband to the TV via CASPA.

The CASPA On-Demand service is available to TiVO owners in New Zealand.

From today, CASPA On-Demand offers 3D content, following a distribution agreement with DDD to deliver 3D content to the CASPA On-Demand platform for TiVo customers with 3D TVs to enjoy. The CASPA offering now includes DDD’s Yabazam 3D animations and short films. In coming months, the CASPA 3D Fun category will grow to include a diverse range of 3D content from DDD’s Yabazam catalogue, featuring everything from animation and extreme sports, to documentaries, indie shorts, comedy and music videos.

The pay-per-view 3D content includes short films and animations, ranging between five minutes to Safety Geeks : SVI at one hour in length.

“We are thrilled to be providing the first 3D video on-demand content over CASPA to all our New Zealand TiVo customers. We are extremely proud that our very first offering is a diverse range of 3D content which allows TiVo customers in New Zealand with 3D TVs, to get a real taste of 3D entertainment.

DDD’s Yabazam content will be available for download via CASPA through TiVo on a pay-per view basis. Prices range between $2.95 and $6.95 and can be viewed as many times as the viewer wishes for 48 hours after the download commences. The Yabazam 3D content will add to the existing CASPA portfolio of more than 475 on-demand movies, 2000+ hrs of TV shows, music videos, artist interviews, concerts and more.
